This programme will run as six, 3 hour sessions over six weeks. It will cover the following topics:
Getting Started An introduction to the Hi-Fly programme, exploring the concept of high growth businesses and the qualities and skills essential for success in this sort of enterprise. The session explores the various options available - including start ups, buyouts, takeovers and franchises - and offers guidance as to which direction you might take.
Legal Issues This session looks at the various legal status options for your business, examining the three most popular in depth - Self Employed Sole Trader, Limited Liability Company and Partnership - and looking at their pro's and con's. We then move on to the role of a leader, and the personal attributes which will lead to success.
The Business Plan Why do you need a business plan and what should it contain? We take you through all the elements required, including your legal status and why you have chosen it, as well as your company values. We then look at planning your markets, personnel, processes and financial projections - leading right up to your exit strategy.
Funding your Business Our finance session takes a very broad overview of the basic finanical profiles and sources of funding for company directors. Firstly we look at cash flow, profit & loss and balance sheets. We then move on to various forms of funding, with a general appraisal of the options and a deeper look at venture capital.
Generating Sales This session provides an innovative and lateral introduction to sales and marketing. It looks at simple and practical methods of undertaking market reserach, the concepts and benefits of niche marketing, promoting benefits not features, unique selling points, the sales funnel approach, customer service and web marketing.
Presenting the Business This session provides you with a range of skills which, if used properly, will make your presentations professional. We take you through the three key stages: - Planning - Preparation - Practice and introduce key techniques. The session ends with a round up of the complete programme.
